For my first visit to the pacific coast of Colombia I was able to encounter some really nice personalities in and out of the water. Depending on the situation and person usually I try for candid portraits. It is not always the outcome, hence this guy scratching his head looking at me like what is he doing.
When people are able to look straight into the camera and give a genuine expression it is usually a priceless portrait. For example, here, I thought I was capturing a beautiful candid shot of these guys riding in on these waves in their tradition dugout canoes. Although not completely naturally candid I still got some great expression and smiles from them.

The pacific coast is so much better than I expected from original advice I was given.
